Primus E-billing
Primus partners with Evergreen and offers paperless billing to help contribute to a greener environment.

We’re all looking for ways to take better care of our planet and to improve the earth’s sustainability for future generations. To do our part, Primus Canada is continuing to take steps to reduce the amount of paper we use.

Here are a few key initiatives we have implemented over the years in an
effort to do our part:

  • May 2002 – Primus Canada launched e-Billing. Today, over 100,000 of our residential customers receive their monthly Primus bill via e-mail. This reduces paper use as well as emissions from vehicles used in mail sorting and delivery.
  • At the same time, we began to suppress invoices that were less than $10 from being printed and mailed. Our printed invoice quantities dropped by almost 10%, despite an almost 20% growth of our customer base over the following year.
  • January 2004 – Primus further increased its print suppression threshold from $10 to $20. As a result, we now prevent over 20% of our monthly invoices from being printed and mailed.
  • Throughout 2006 – Primus increased its efforts to better target our print advertising materials, reducing the number of pieces printed and mailed to consumers by one third (a reduction of several million pieces compared to the total volume of printed advertising in 2005).
  • Our advertising materials have been consistently printed on re-cycled and re-cyclable paper.
  • As of July 1, 2007 – our advertising materials will now be printed on FSC-certified paper (Forest Stewardship Council). This ensures the paper we use is certified as having come from responsible forest management practices.


Primus and Evergreen

We are proud to announce a new partnership with Evergreen. As part of our partnership, Primus will be donating funds to Evergreen every month to support their environmental initiatives.

Evergreen is a registered national charity founded in 1991, whose mandate is to bring nature to our cities through naturalization projects. Evergreen motivates people and gives them the practical tools to create and sustain healthy, natural outdoor spaces in our schools, communities and homes.

In addition, Evergreen is currently undertaking a significant initiative to create a unique destination in Toronto called Evergreen at the Brick Works – a model for urban re-development and sustainability in Canada’s largest city.

Primus and e-Bills

Switch to Primus e-Bills and save 99¢ per e-Bill! It looks just like your paper bill. Switch to pre-authorized monthly credit card payments or chequing account withdrawals, internet banking or telephone banking.

For those customers who wish to receive paper bills, a charge of 99¢ per paper bill will be applied to your invoice.

We greatly appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Primus. We are very happy to be doing our part to reduce our amount of paper used and contribute toward protecting our environment. We encourage our customers and all Canadians to do as much as they can to improve the earth’s sustainability. We can all make a difference!
